CTAS First Aid Courses Available

CTAS Education are pleased to offer First Aid and CPR courses. Our trainer Mel has significant experience in the Early Childhood Education Sector. We have implemented extensive risk management systems (incorporating strict hygiene practices) to ensure the health and safety of all attendees during course delivery. Our course fees remain very competitive and we are happy to conduct training at your premises if convenient.

CTAS Education offers friendly relaxed first aid courses. We provide resources that promote correct technique and skills when providing a range of first aid procedures.
Our Assessors satisfy the standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTO’s) 215/AQTF mandatory competency requirements for assessors.
Enrolments are being taking for individuals who wish to attend our public courses, at various locations throughout Western Australia. We also invite group bookings at a suitable venue.

Our CTAS First Aid Student Handbook will provide further information regarding attending first aid training courses with CTAS Education.

HLTAID012- Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting
Overview This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants and children in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

This unit applies to a range of workers within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthma and anaphylactic emergency. This includes early childhood workers and educators who work with school age children in outside school hours care and vacation programs.

You will gain the knowledge and confidence to perform CPR on an adult, child and infant, with compression and ventilation skills. You will also obtain the knowledge and skills to appropriately respond to casualties that have asthma, anaphylaxis, non-life threatening bleeding, choking, envenomation, fractures, dislocations, sprains, strains, minor wounds, nose bleeds and shock.

Entry Requirements
There are no formal prerequisites required for you to enrol in this course, however a sound understanding of the English language is a must. For this reason, applicants will be required to complete at the time of enrolment a short assessment to ascertain their language, literacy and numeracy level. Upon enrolment, each individual must have a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) to study any qualification or short course in Australia. To create a USI please visit www.usi.gov.au

For mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination requirements, please check relevant WA government website.

Cost
$170* per person
*The course fee is the maximum indicative fee and is subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment.
Location
Courses are regularly held at the CTAS Education Training Room in Welshpool or in an approved early childhood service.
Duration
The course duration is 20 hours, which includes 11 hours pre-course learning and 9 hours face-to-face class.

HLTAID009- Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Overview
This nationally recognised unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

CPR is a lifesaving technique which can sustain life until an ambulance arrives. You will gain the knowledge and confidence to perform CPR on an adult and infant, with compression and ventilation skills.

Parent First Aid Course 
Overview
This course informs parents with children of any age how to confidently respond in the event of an emergency.

Our courses provide current and relevant first aid training with opportunities to practise your skills in a relaxed and safe environment.

Entry Requirements
There are no formal prerequisites required for you to enrol into this course. However, a sound understanding of the English language is desirable.
Cost
$90 per person
Location
Parent First Aid courses can be held at a location suitable for the group size.

The course can be hosted in the home or in a public venue for hire, or can be held at the CTAS Training Room in Cannington.

Approximately 3hr session
